Mason Blackwood committed to St. Bonaventure University for the 2026-27 men’s college basketball season, the former Aquinas Institute standout announced on his Instagram page, Sunday.

A 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward, Blackwood played his first collegiate season at Penn State University where he appeared in 26 games averaging 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds in 12.3 minutes of play.

Blackwood scored 17.7 points and grabbed 7.4 rebounds as a sophomore at Aquinas. He was named Private-Parochial League Player of the Year in leading the Li’l Irish to the Section V Class AA title.

He transferred to New Hampton Prep School in New Hampshire for his junior and senior seasons and led that program to back-to-back NEPSAC finals in 2024 and 2025. With Blackwood in the lineup, New Hampton reached the Final Four of the National Prep Championship in 2024 and an Elite Eight appearance in 2025.
