Heralded prep forward Yann Farell has committed to St. Bonaventure.
Farell, who played last season at Keystone Athletic Academy in Erie, Pa., moved to the United States from Gabon four years ago. He held offers from the University of Miami, Texas A&M, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Syracuse and UConn in 2020, among others, before entering prep school. The 6-foot-7, 180-pound Farrell was a composite three-star recruit, according to Verbal Commits, and On3.com ranked him No. 135 in the Class of 2022. He told On3 reporter Jamie Shaw in March that he had visited St. John’s, Maryland and Georgetown.

Shaw noted Farell’s “defensive upside,” length and “natural timing” and said he made strides offensively, including catch-and-shoot 3-pointers, when he saw him play at the Flyin To The Hoop Top Gun Showcase in Dayton.
Bona now has three open scholarships available for the 2022-23 season.
