St. Bonaventure guard Linton Brown displayed his potential this past Dec. 4.
Brown, with Bona point guard Kyle Lofton sidelined due to an ankle injury, scored 10 points–including two 3-pointers– in 20 minutes during SBU’s narrow victory over Buffalo.
The 6-foot-5 guard from Delray Beach, Fla. shot 48.3 percent from 3-point range at Indian River State College in the 2020-21 season and was expected to be a similar sharpshooter at the Division I level. Little did Brown and Bonaventure know at the time that due to the effects of COVID-19, he would only play three more contests as a Bonnie.
Brown entered the NCAA transfer portal on Thursday, according to Verbal Commits. He appeared in all 10 of Bonaventure’s games before the program’s COVID pause, after which he was not cleared to return to game action.
A redshirt sophomore, Brown is the third player from this year’s Bonaventure roster to enter the portal. Abdoul Karim Coulibaly and Joryam Saizonou previously entered their names.
