ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure Athletics has entered into a programming agreement with the YES Network to broadcast nine Bonnies basketball games this season, covering both men’s and women’s contests.
Five Bonnies men’s basketball games are set to air on YES and will be streamed on The Gotham Sports App during during the season with the first coming Nov. 16 vs. Le Moyne as the Bonnies take on the Dolphins at the Reilly Center. Bona’s anticipated Western New York rivalry game vs. Buffalo will air on YES and The Gotham Sports App on Dec. 7 as well.
In Atlantic 10 play, Bonnies games vs. La Salle (Jan. 11), Richmond (Jan. 15) and Dayton (Jan. 28) will air live on YES and The Gotham Sports App.
“This is such an important partnership for our institution and our Athletic Department,” said Bob Beretta, St. Bonaventure Vice President and Director of Athletics. “We are thrilled to showcase Bona Basketball on the nation’s top regional sports network. To be connected with the New York Yankees, a premier global brand, is something we’re very excited about.”
For the Bonnies women’s team, in-state non-conference battles vs. Cornell (Dec. 5) and Niagara (Dec. 17) are set to appear on YES and The Gotham Sports App. After the New Year, Bona A-10 games vs. UMass (Jan. 12) and Duquesne (Feb. 2) have been picked up by YES and The Gotham Sports App as well.
“This nine-game package will provide our university, Athletic Department and men’s and women’s basketball programs with increased exposure not only in the critical New York metropolitan television market, but also nationally,” Beretta said. “This agreement ranks as another important step in our strategy to help grow the St. Bonaventure brand beyond Western New York. We are grateful to Marc LaPlace and the entire team at YES for making it possible.”
The YES Network, the most-watched regional sports network in the country for 18 of the last 21 years, owns the exclusive regional media rights of the 27-time World Champion New York Yankees and the Brooklyn Nets. YES, which has earned 148 Emmy Awards since its 2002 launch, also televises original biography, interview and magazine programs, college sports and Manchester City and AC Milan soccer. YES made the list of Forbes’ top 10 most valuable sports business brands in the world for nine straight years.
All Bonnies basketball games broadcast on YES will also still stream through ESPN+ as well for fans with a subscription to that service.
