The St. Bonaventure men’s basketball squad is set to host in-state and non-conference opponent Binghamton at 7 p.m. Friday at the Reilly Center.
The Bonnies will squeeze in one more game before the Christmas weekend. The team, currently 7-3 on the season, is looking to bounce back after a 64-54 loss to nationally-ranked Florida Atlantic this past Saturday. The defeat snapped a five-game win streak for Bonas.
Friday’s contest between the Bonnies and Bearcats will be their first meeting in eight years. The teams previously met on Nov. 13, 2015, a game where Bonaventure won 63-53 in its 2015-16 season opener versus Binghamton.
The Bonnies are 5-1 all-time against the Bearcats, which is part of Bonas’ overall record of 22-9 versus America East opponents. Current Bonaventure standouts Moses Flower (Hartford) and Charles Pride (Bryant) used to compete in the America East Conference.
So far for Bonaventure, Mika Adams-Woods has a team-leading 15.3 points-per-game. Charles Pride leads the team in rebounds-per-game (6.3) and steals (11), and has 11.9 PPG.
Bonaventure as a team ranks 31st nationally in free-throw percentage at 76%. Daryl Banks III has the best individual FT percentage at 92%.
The Bearcats (7-4) have won three games in a row. Binghamton’s most recent victory was a 74-69 triumph over Niagara on Tuesday evening.
Junior guard Tymu Chenery has paced the Bearcats with 14.6 PPG and 22 blocks. Guard Symir Torrence, a Syracuse native, has put forth a balanced effort of 9.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game so far this season.

The Bonnies’ matchup against Binghamton is the teams’ second-to-last game against a non-conference opponent this season. Bonaventure wraps up its non-conference slate with a road game at 4 p.m. next Saturday (Dec. 30) against Akron at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, home of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
