Jalen Adaway was the first St. Bonaventure Bonnie to publicly address the possibility of returning for a fifth college basketball season this week. The 6-foot-5 forward isn’t committing either way at this point.

Adaway was asked via Instagram’s Q&A function if he planned on utilizing the NCAA’s eligibility changes allowing players an extra year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Adaway and fellow seniors Jaren Holmes, Kyle Lofton, Osun Osunniyi and Dominick Welch have the option of returning for the 2022-23 season after the 2021-22 season concludes.

“Not sure yet,” Adaway responded, accompanied by a picture of his reflection in SBU’s Atlantic 10 Championship trophy. “Locked in on this upcoming season for now.”

Richmond starters Nathan Cayo, Jacob Gilyard and Grant Golden each decided to return for a fifth year recently. The A-10 champion Bonnies still have another campaign before they make their respective decisions.
