The St. Bonaventure men’s basketball program has paused all team activities due to a positive COVID-19 test result within the team’s Tier 1 personnel, the school announced in a release.

The program was notified of a positive result Thursday as part of NCAA testing guidelines. Players, coaches, team managers and support staff are tested three times per week.

St. Bonaventure will no longer be traveling to Mohegan Sun for the season-opening “Bubbleville” tournament. The Bonnies were scheduled to play Towson, Stephen F. Austin and Army from Nov. 25-27. Their previously scheduled game with Vermont was canceled after Vermont opted to delay the start of its season due to COVID-19 concerns.

“The well-being of student-athletes and staff remains the paramount concern for everyone in our campus community and the Department of Athletics and St. Bonaventure University will continue to follow all guidelines and safety protocols provided by the NCAA, Atlantic 10 and Cattaraugus County Health Department officials,” the release stated.
