2018 St. Bonaventure graduate Matt Mobley has signed a professional contract to play for Spirou in Belgium, the team announced Tuesday.

A 6-foot-3 guard from Worcester, Mass., Mobley was a two-time All-Conference player for the Bonnies after transferring for his junior and senior seasons.

This past year, Mobley helped lead St. Bonaventure to a 26-8 record, an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament and a second place finish in the Atlantic 10. The Bonnies’ 26 wins set a school record and their win over UCLA in the First Four was the program’s first NCAA victory since 1970. In addition, the season included a 13-game win streak, which was the longest for the program since 1970.

A first team All-Conference selection by the A-10 coaches, Mobley was the sixth-leading scorer in the Atlantic 10 at 18.1 points per game. He had 15 games with 20 points or more including three 30-point games. Mobley set a school record with 105 three-point field goals, shooting 37 percent from behind the arc. He also set an A-10 record with nine three-pointers in the Bonnies’ A-10 Tournament win over Richmond. Mobley also averaged 5.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for the season.

Mobley also earned All-District honors from both the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association in 2018.

Last month, Mobley earned an NBA Summer League contract with the Utah Jazz.

As a junior, Mobley earned third team All-Conference honors after he averaged 18.5 points per game and made 85 three-pointers. Over his two seasons, Mobley scored 1,209 points, averaging 18.3 points per game over his 66 career contests.

Mobley is the 21st St. Bonaventure men’s basketball alumnus to sign a professional contract since Mark Schmidt became the Bonnies’ head coach in 2007.
