There wasn’t a phone booth for Preston Prince to change into a cape.

That didn’t keep the former Hilton Cadet standout from making a play worthy of comparison to the Man of Steel.

With one out and runners on the corners in the fifth inning of a one-run game, Dallas Baptist’s Brooks Sartain popped a bunt to the right side of the infield.

Prince made a diving catch on the play that Florida International University (FIU) social media likened to Clark Kent’s alter ego.

And it earned the No. 1 spot on SportsCenter’s Top 10.

He turned into Superman 🦸‍♂️

Making his eighth appearance of the season on the mound, Prince went on to log 6 1/3 innings and left the game with a 5-2 lead.

The senior left-hander has thrown six or more innings in each of his last three outings. He has 43 strike outs in 37-plus innings over eight appearances on the mound this season.

A Second Team All-County selection, an injury kept Prince from batting during his senior year at Hilton. The left-hander went 4-1 on the mound with a 1.48 ERA and struck out 48 batters in 28-plus innings. During his junior season, he was the starting pitcher for the Cadets in the 2021 Class AA semifinal when Hilton edged top-seeded Webster Schroeder in 13 innings, 3-2.

Prince started his collegiate career at Niagara University where he was part of the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2024. He made 11 starts that year including in the regional against No. 11 Oklahoma State.
