History 101: Pittsford Mendon is seeking back-to-back sectional titles and its third in the last four years. The Vikings won Class A1 last year to bookend an undefeated season. In 2019, the Vikings went undefeated through sectional play as well and advanced all the way to the state championship before falling to Section I champion Poughkeepsie. Webster Schroeder is making its first sectional final appearance since 2013 when the Warriors reached the championship back-to-back years. In 2012, the Warriors were the No. 3 seed as well and fell to the top seed, Aquinas. The Warriors are seeking their first sectional title since the Webster Central School District split into two basketball teams in 2003. Before then, Webster’s most recent chip was in 2001 when it won Class AA.
