History 101: Pittsford Mendon is seeking its sixth consecutive sectional title in what is its eighth straight championship appearance. The Vikings are looking to win their seventh chip in that span as well. All six of the Vikings’ sectional titles came in Class A: Class A2 in 2015, Class A1 in 2017 and 2018 and Class A the last three years. The Vikings were the top seed for five of those six championship runs as well (2015, 2017 through 2019 and 2021). After being eliminated in the sectional semifinals in Class AA last season, Webster Schroeder is making its first sectional final appearance in 20 years. Before the Winter 2021 season, the Warriors had been knocked out of either the first round or the quarterfinals five of the previous six years. Webster last won a girls’ title in 1976.
