Luis Garcia, Carter Kieboom and Yadiel Hernandez each hit a solo home run, and the Rochester Red Wings won their third straight game with a 3-2 victory over Worcester, Friday night.
Garcia and Kieboom connected in the first inning off Worcester starter Kyle Hart.
Garcia’s leadoff round-tripper was his team-leading 11th of the season and fourth in three days. Kieboom’s shot was his fifth of the year. Hernandez connected on his second of the year in the third inning.
Sterling Sharp allowed two runs on seven hits over five innings to pick up the win. The improved to 2-1 on the season.
T.J. McFarland worked two scoreless inning to pick up his first save of the season. The southpaw retired all six of the batter he faced striking out one and getting four more on the ground.
Nick Wells threw an inning and a third scoreless before giving way to Bryan Bonnell for two-thirds of an inning. Garcia has 10 hits in the last six games.
Worcester (29-17) and Rochester (18-28) continue the series on Saturday with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.
