Top 25 Wrap: Kansas uses late rally to beat North Dakota State; Houston stays undefeated

Kansas closed on a 7-0 run over the final 3:45 of the game to avoid the upset bid. Trailing by three at 61-58, Marcus Garrett converted a pair of free throws. Tyon Grant-Foster finished a layup for the go-ahead basket. Christian Braun connected twice from the free throw line and Ochai Agbaji hit one of two from the stripe to ice the game.

Tyree Eady paced North Dakota State with 14 points. The junior guard’s layup with 16:06 left in the second half gave the Bison a 46-39 lead. NDSU maintained the seven-point advantage when Maleek Harden-Hayes connected on his only field goal of the night — a 3-pointer — for a 51-44 Bison lead.

Jalen Wilson posted a double-double for Kansas with 14 posted and a game-high 15 rebounds. Ogbaji added 13 points.

Despite not hitting a field for the final 5:52 of the game, Houston rallied from a seven-point, first-half deficit to win by double digits for the fourth time this season. Quentin Grimes converted 14 of 15 free throws and finished with a game-high 23 points. Tramon Mark added 18 points, and Dejon Jarreau had 11 for the Cougars which used an 18-6 run midway through the second half to pull away.

Justin Minaya led South Carolina with 13 points. Minaya’s 3-pointer gave South Carolina an early 20-13 lead. The Gamecocks maintained the seven-point advantage at 32-25 late in the first half.
