Bishop Kearney junior Taylor Norris averaged a double-double as the Lady Kings won their third consecutive sectional title. Norris collected 14.7 points, 12.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 2.9 steals and 0.8 blocks in her second varsity campaign.
The 5-foot-10 forward finished top 10 in Section V in rebounding (296 total) and top 35 in scoring (337). Norris improved her scoring average from last season (10.3 points) as well. The junior forward converted 64 percent of her shots from the field, 36 percent of her threes and 81 percent of her free throws. Norris notched at least 20 points four times and had at least 15 boards on seven occasions en route to 16 double-doubles.
Norris scored 26 points and grabbed 20 rebounds on December 27th in a 62-59 win over Sacred Heart (Monsignor Martin). She also had 23 points and 20 rebounds on February 10th in a 60-37 win at Our Lady of Mercy. Norris recorded a triple-double of 15 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists in the sectional quarterfinals.
Norris was named to the Private-Parochial Division I first team and the Class AA All-State fifth team. She returns for her senior season alongside Saniaa Wilson, Marianna Freeman, Kaia Goode and Camille Wright.
