One player went yard against his hometown team. Another connected on a walk-off single. A third hit a bomb, and one more tossed five-plus scoreless innings. Section V alums Chris Bostick, Greg Cullen, Danny Mendick and Adam Scott did work on minor league diamonds Tuesday night.
Bostick connected on his 12th home run of the season – a two-run shot in the ninth inning as the Norfolk Tides fell to the Rochester Red Wings in the opener of a three-game set at Frontier Field. It wasn’t the first time, the former Aquinas Institute star burned the home nine. Last June, then as a member of the Indianapolis Indians, Bostick played long ball.
It was our hometown boy that did the @RocRedWings in yesterday…Chris Bostick went 3-for-4 with a home run and a RBI.

Bostick and his wife, Lora, recently welcomed their first child, Jay.
Cullen (McQuaid) brought home the winning run with a one-out single as the Rome Braves (Class A – South Atlantic League) erased a 4-3 deficit in the bottom of the 10th to win, 5-4.

Mendick drilled his 12th round-tripper of the season – a 465-foot blast in Charlotte’s 8-1 loss to Buffalo (the Knights aren’t doing anything to help the Wings to gain ground in the standings).
Danny Mendick (@MendonBaseball @pcsdathletics @mcctribunes) hit a ball 465 feet tonight for his 12th homer of the season at Triple-A Charlotte. He also singled and stole his 17th base of the season. @PickinSplinters @jml5798

The Pittsford Mendon and Monroe Community College alum enjoyed his recent visit to Frontier Field.
Scott (Canandaigua) started and struck out seven over 5.1 scoreless innings. He is 4-1 on the season with Akron Rubberducks (Double-A Eastern League). Since being promoted to Double-A, the left-hander has fanned 35 and walked 11 in 40.1 innings of work. Scott is 7-8 overall this season in 19 appearances with Akron and Lynchburg (Class A-Advanced). Scott has teamed up with fellow Section V alum Ernie Clement (Brighton) in the lineup. He referred to the reunion as the “Craziest thing ever.”
