Gage Ziehl threw a complete game, six-hit shutout to push Penfield to the Class AA semifinals. Ziehl struck out 12 batters in the contest and only walked one. He also helped the offense, going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Nick Ianniello did a lot of the damage for the Patriots at the plate, recording two hits, including a double, and two RBI. Danny Stapleton drove in the other run for Penfield. Brendan Miller was a perfect 3-for-3 on the day while Nathan Sobko was 2-for-3 with a walk. Penfield advances to play Rush-Henrietta in the semifinals of the Class AA tournament.

Tyler Cerame capped a six-run fourth inning with a two-out single that brought home a pair of runs as the Hilton Cadets erased a three-run deficit and moved on to the semifinals. Cerame reached on a hit by pitch to start the rally, and Hilton sent 11 batters to the plate in the decisive frame. Tyler Koster finished 3-for-4 with five RBI and a run scored. Koster plated a pair with a two-out single in the fifth as Hilton added insurance runs. Kyle Douglas went 2-for-3 in the game including a bunt single in the fourth. Douglas also scored twice in the game. Jason Story went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Alex Noto and Jason Story scored two runs apiece. Gavin Moore singled, drove in a run and scored once. Jackson DiPalma added a base hit and a run scored. Nick Rago struck out five over 4.1 innings of relief work to pick up the win. The junior allowed two runs on five hits. Santino Ross led Victor at the plate going 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored. CJ Williams was 2-for-4 with a sacrifice fly and two RBI. Hudson Pacia singled and scored twice for the Blue Devils. Ryan Lukas walked, had a sacrifice bunt and scored a run. Hilton will play top-seeded McQuaid in the semifinals.

Justin Kimble drove in three runs on two hits to propel Greece Athena’s offense in victory. The Trojans scored four runs in the first inning and four more in the fourth. Brockport got out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Nick Nealon, the second batter of the game, tripled to drive in Sam Velletri. Devyn Scheidt drove in the Blue Devils’ second run of the inning. Casey Saucke II and Anthony Bonacci both drove in one run for Greece Athena in the next half inning, while Tyler Curtis’ two RBI triple was sandwiched by the RBI hits. Nealon drove in a run in the top of the second to cut the lead to 4-3. This was the end of the scoring until the Trojans’ explosive fourth inning. Jayson Russell drove in one run in the inning but the final three runs were scored on Kimble’s inside-the-park home run. Bonacci, Kimble and Jacob Cerone were the only three players from Greece Athena to record multiple hits in the contest. Ryan Dineen threw the first five innings for the Trojans, allowing three runs, one of them earned, on five hits. Brandon Smith relieved him and allowed one hit and struck out one batter in the final two innings. For Brockport, Nick Johnson threw 2.1 scoreless innings in relief, only giving up one hit and punching out one batter. Brockport’s batters struck out only once in the game. Greece Athena will take on Pittsford Mendon in the Class A1 semifinals.

Canandaigua struck for five runs in the bottom of the first inning with the help of a two-run error by Churchville-Chili. Mike Sculli had Canandaigua’s lone RBI in the inning on a single. Two runs scored on passed balls and two more scored on an error. Churchville-Chili struck first in the game when Amaury Samalot knocked in Jake Caroll in the top of the first. The Braves scored one run in the second, fifth and sixth innings to take an 8-1 advantage. Dylan Mackenzie hit an inside-the-park home run in the second and an RBI double in the sixth and, Joe Brinza hit an RBI triple in the fifth. Churchville-Chili scored one final run in the top of the seventh on an error. Mackenzie finished the day 3-for-4 with the two RBI. Seth Vigneri was 2-for-2 with a double. Sculli started the game on the mound for Canandaigua and struck out 10 batters over five innings. Austin Miller threw the final two innings and struck out one. Each pitcher gave up one unearned run. Canandaigua advances to the Class A1 semifinals to face Irondequoit.

Hudson Bockmier hurled a complete game shutout and drove in Pittsford Mendon’s only run of the game. On the mound, Bockmier allowed seven hits and struck out seven while issuing only one free pass. He went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI in the third inning. Trent Wasserman pitched for Brighton and nearly matched Bockmier’s output. He surrendered the one run on five hits and three walks. Wasserman also struck out six batters during the game. Kevin Keneally went 1-for-3 for Mendon with a double. Karthik Mathew-Malik scored the only run of the game despite being 0-for-3 with a walk. For Brighton, Jake Falter and Chase Seibold each collected two hits. Pittsford Mendon advances to the semifinals of the Class A1 tournament to face Greece Athena.

Derek Childs and Tim Martin combined to throw a three-hit shutout to help Honeoye Falls-Lima advance. Childs struck out four and Martin collected three strikeouts and each pitcher walked one batter. Mitch Slymon finished the game with three RBI on a double, while Cary VanNewkirk and Sal Tripi each went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Hayden Smith, Brad Reinke, Jake Fusare, and Reece Joint all drove in one run. Logan Holgado collected two of Wayne’s three hits in the game. Honeoye Falls-Lima advances to play Eastridge in the Class A2 semifinals.

Victor Arroyo drove in Michael Conrow to cap a comeback for East to avoid Leadership’s upset bid. Leadership got on the board early with two runs in the first and third innings. Victor Mercado drove in one of the runs in the first inning and Jaquez Cochran drove in one of the runs in the third. East’s rally started with four runs in the fifth inning. Two of the runs were scored on passed balls and the other two were driven in by Alex Figueroa and Tyrone Roundtree. That inning set up Arroyo’s heroics. Angel Silva recorded the win for East and also had the team’s only hit of the game. For Leadership, Roman Rivera was 2-for-4 and Cochran was 1-for-3 with two runs scored. East advances to take on Pittsford Sutherland in the semifinals of the Class A2 tournament.

SOTA fell victim to the error bug five times and threw three wild pitches in the quarterfinal matchup. The Lancers weren’t in need of that much help but certainly took advantage, supplementing the miscues with two home runs and seven other hits to earn a 12-6 victory in their last home game of the season. Noah Fasso threw a one-hitter and received plenty of help from his offense. Fasso recorded nine strikeouts in the complete game effort. Teoy Galbraith and Alex Minnehan led the Bulldogs’ offense, which had 13 hits in the game. Galbraith went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Minnehan finished 2-for-2 with three runs scored and a triple. Livonia advances to the class B1 semifinals to take on the winner of Hornell at Batavia in the Class B1 semifinals.

Korey Canton threw a four-hit complete game to propel Greece Odyssey to an upset victory. Canton struck out six and walked three in his masterpiece. Jonah Holloway drove in the only run of the game on a triple in the fourth inning. Greece Odyssey’s victory pushes them into the Class B1 semifinals to face off against the winner of Geneva at Newark in the Class B1 semifinals.

Waterloo benefited from two errors by Bath-Haverling in the sixth inning to avoid the upset. Waterloo took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third, an inning in which Bath-Haverling pitcher Brendan Strong walked three batters and committed a balk. The next half inning started with a solo home run from Griffin Yastremski. Austin Palmer drove in Strong to tie the game later that inning. Yastremski his another solo home run in the top of the sixth to give the Rams a 3-2 advantage. Waterloo then benefited from the Bath-Haverling errors to secure the win. Matt Baron threw a complete game for Waterloo, striking out four and allowing three runs on five hits and three walks. Derek Slywka had the lone hit for the Indians in the contest and used it to drive in a run. Strong struck out nine batters and walked four while only allowing the one hit for the Rams. Waterloo will play the winner of Mynderse Academy at Wellsville in the Class B2 semifinals.

Hudson Evingham had a two RBI double in a four-run third inning as Bolivar-Richburg pulled off the upset. Evingnham and Logan Bess each stole home in the inning to cap the explosion. Aside Bolivar-Richburg’s big third inning, the game featured the pitchers. Bess started on the bump and allowed only one run on four hits. He also struck out 12 batters during the game. Spencer John was the starting pitcher for South Seneca/Romulus and recovered from his tough inning. He allowed the four runs on seven hits and five walks, but also collected 14 strikeouts. John also drove in his team’s only run in the first inning. Bolivar-Richburg advanced to take on Geneseo in the semifinals of the Class C2 tournament.

Jake Hamilton struck out James Kennedy to put an end to York’s comeback attempt. Geneseo took an early 4-1 lead after three innings, aided by a three-run third. Luke Harris, Hamilton and Liam Miskell all drove in runs for the Blue Devils during the big inning. There was no scoring until the top of the sixth, when York began its comeback attempt. David Cuozzo drove in Tim LaGeorge and Kennedy on a single to cut the deficit to one. Geneseo answered in the next half inning with one RBI from Daniel Kelly and Owen Lyons to stretch the lead to 6-3. Matt McFarland drove in a run in the top of the seventh for York but was stranded on first base when Kennedy struck out. Miskell finished the day 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI for the victors. Kelly went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Hamilton fired a complete game, allowing four runs and nine hits while also piling up eight strikeouts. McFarland and Cuozzo each drove in two runs for York in a losing effort. Kennedy started the game on the mound and threw three innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on four hits. Ryan Stella relieved him and allowed two runs on 2.2 innings. Geneseo advances to face Bolivar-Richburg in the Class C2 semifinals.

Eric Wilson and Joe Laursen combined to strike out 11 Pavilion batters on the day and got plenty of support from their offense. Wilson threw four innings and tallied five strikeouts and allowed one earned run. Laursen threw three scoreless innings and struck out six. Ryan Carpino and Noah Carnes each drove in two runs, with Carpino going 1-for-3 and Carnes going 2-for-3. Troy Kolb and Ethan Pies drove in one run a piece. Kolb collected three hits while Pies had four. Keith Muckle provided most of Pavilion’s offense for the day, going 3-for-3 with with a double and a run scored. Caledonia-Mumford advances to the Class C2 semifinals to take on the winner of Keshequa at Lyndonville.
