On the offensive side of the ball, Tim Catalano finished 1-for-3 at the plate with three RBI, a walk, and three runs scored. Buckley was also good on the mount as he pitched five innings, gave up two hits and struck out seven batters on seventy-nine pitches. For Palmyra, Nick Sapienza had both of his team’s hits in four at bats. Haverling stomped their neck on Palmyra’s throat and kept it there for pretty much the whole game as they scored all fifteen of their runs in the first five innings, including an 8-run fifth to cap off the rout. Pitcher Ezra Maslyn settled for six innings, giving up a hit and three walks while striking out eight batters on ninety-five pitches. He retired eleven consecutive batters between the second and sixth innings. The Eagles scored all four of their runs in the second inning as after Jones drove in Young with a single, Westbrook mashed a 1-0 pitch over the left field fence to extend the lead in the very next at bat.
