Former UPrep standout Jeenathan Williams moved to No. 83 in the final Rivals Top 150 for the Class of 2018. The University of Buffalo commit jumped 45 spots – the largest such move of any player on the list.
A 6-foot-6 guard, Williams averaged 22 points for UPrep during his junior season (2016-17). He led the Griffins to the Section V Class AA final where they lost to eventual state finalist Fairport, 56-53.
This past season Williams played at Prolific Prep in California where he averaged 15.8 points per game. He netted a season-high 24 points against Westtown School and topped the 20-point mark on six occasions.
Williams is one of just nine players on the Rivals list who has committed to a school outside the Power Five.
Williams joins a UB squad which has reached the NCAA Tournament in three of the past years. The Bulls defeated Arizona, 89-68 in the South Region first round before falling to Kentucky.
Fellow Section V alum Dontay Caruthers of East High will be playing in his senior season next year.
