ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – For the second year in a row, St. Bonaventure point guard Jaylen Adams has been chosen to participate in the prestigious adidas Nations basketball camp.

A rising senior, Adams is one of a select group of collegiate players who will serve as counselors at the Aug. 3-7 event, which will be held at MI3 Sports Center in Houston, Texas. The adidas Nations features elite under-19 players from the U.S., Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and Latin America with top college players. The participants will train and learn from each other as well as a panel of NBA players, coaches and scouts. Billy Bayno, Indiana Pacers assistant coach, along with eigh other NBA assistant coaches, will lead the coaching staff. The event includes skills sessions, video analysis and drills as well as 5-on-5 competitions. Over 75 NBA scouts and team personnel are expected to attend.

Last summer, Adams averaged 8.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.4 steals over three games at adidas Nations. He led all players in assists at the event.

His junior year at St. Bonaventure, Adams was selected to the first team All-Atlantic 10 Conference for the second straight season. He also was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches District 4 First Team and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association All-District II team. The Baltimore, Md., native was the only NCAA Division I player to rank in the top 25 nationally in scoring (24th at 20.6 points per game) and the top 10 in assists (seventh at 6.5 per game). Adams led the A-10 in assists and his 195 assists are the second-most in a season in program history. Adams also finished second in the A-10 in steals (2.1 per game), second in minutes played (37.4), third in three-pointers (2.6 per game), ninth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.9) and 11th in free throw percentage (.821).

Last spring, Adams entered the NBA Draft but did not retain an agent. After working out for three teams, he withdrew from draft consideration prior to the NBA’s deadline for underclassmen.

Over his three seasons, Adams has scored 1,377 points, which ranks 21st in program history. He has led the Bonnies to back-to-back 20-win seasons the past two years.
