BOSTON, Mass. – The Purple Eagles fell to Boston College, 7-2, in the teams’ first-ever meeting on Saturday.
Boston College (28-18) dominated most of the game, taking a 7-0 lead over the Purple Eagles (16-31-1) through the first eight innings.
Niagara, however, stayed in the game. In the top of the ninth, with bases loaded, Joel Brophy was walked, scoring Greg Rodgers. Darian Blanks then singled through the left side to send home Owen Dziados.
Blanks finished the day with one RBI and one hit. Dziados, Hayden Coll and Geoff Seto each recorded one hit as well and Brophy earned one RBI. Zachary Kolodziejski (3-7) struck out two batters and walked none in 5.0 innings pitched.
The Purple Eagles complete their two-game series with Boston College on Sunday, May 15 at 1:00 p.m.
