LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Six Flyers scored in double figures in the University of Dayton’s 91-53 win over Siena (3-6) Saturday at the Alumni Recreation Center. With the victory Dayton improves to 12-0, tying its best start in program history (UD also started the 1983-84 season 12-0).
Sophomore Ally Malott paced UD with 19 points, seven rebounds, four steals and two blocks. Freshmen Kelley Austria and Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova scored 11 each and also had three assists. Cornelie-Sigmundova added four blocked shots.
Senior Olivia Applewhite, junior Cassie Sant and sophomore Andrea Hoover each had 10 points for the Flyers. Applewhite pulled down a game-high eight rebounds to help UD win the rebounding battle 50-31 over the Saints.
The 38-point margin of victory is the second highest for the Flyers this season (they defeated Eastern Illinois 105-42 on Nov. 25 for a 63-point margin of victory).
The Flyers close out the non-conference portion of their schedule on Dec. 30 at Bowling Green in the Stroh Center. Tipoff is 1 p.m. ET.
