What It Means:
Rhode Island drops to 0-3 for the first time since the 1974-75 season. That team began 0-13. The Runnin’ Rams end their three-game road trip to start the season and play five of their next six at home – with the lone road trip in Providence (Brown).
Inside the Box Score and Beyond:
* Orion Outerbridge registered his first double-double of the season – and second of his career – with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Both totals were career highs.
* The 6-9 senior forward also connected on 4-of-9 from the perimeter – his second game with four or more treys.
* Some of Rhody’s reserves saw their most significant action of the season. TJ Buchanan scored nine points and dished out three assists in 24 minutes of action. Rayvon Harris added four points, three boards and three assists in 15 minutes. Levan Shengelia chipped in with eight points and two rebounds in 16 minutes. In total, Rhody got 21 points from its bench.
* The turnover bug bit Rhody again, as the Rams committed 18 turnovers. 15 of the 18 came in the first half. Nebraska capitalized, scoring 27 points off of Rhody mishaps.
* Jamal Wilson chipped in with 14 points. While it is a season “low” for Wilson – it marks the third straight game in which he reached or surpassed his career-high entering the season.
* The 6-5 guard from Philadelphia is averaging 25.3 points per game.
* Rhody’s 63 points were a season-low, as was its 37.7% shooting percentage.
* The Rams are averaging 18.0 offensive rebounds per game. They also cut their foul count in half – committing a season-low 15 today at Nebraska.
* Dominique McKoy missed today’s game due to a one game suspension for violation of university policy.
