ALFRED, N.Y. – Matt Boulter (So. New Hampshire) and Matt Delewski (Toledo) combined for six hits and six RBI as the Webster Yankees beat the Alfred Thunder 13-6 in New York Collegiate Baseball League action at Alfred State, Tuesday.

After spotting the Thunder a four-run lead in the third, the pinstripes pasted numbers on the board in the next four frames.

Delewski and Matt Francis (U of R) worked back-to-back one-out walks in the fourth. Blake Beemer (Ball State) delivered with a two-out single to right for the first Webster run of the game.

An inning later, Monte Marrocco (U Mass-Lowell) earned a one-out base on balls and moved to third on a single by Wes Winkle (Ball State).  Johnny Brill (Rollins plated Marrocco with a sacrifice to center field. After Winkle stole second, Delewski brought him around with a base hit.

Webster took the lead with four runs in the sixth. Boulter greeted Alfred reliever, William Frick, with a solo shot over the right field fence. The homer was Boulter’s first of the year, and only Webster’s second home run of the season.  One out later, Ollie Bertrand (Flagler) singled and advanced when Tyler Grogg (Toledo) was hit by a pitch. Marrocco moved the runners with a single, and Brill brought home Groggand Bertrand with a base rap. Delewski capped the inning with a hit scoring Marrocco.

The home nine put the game out of reach in the seventh. Boulter’s double was the first of four hits to start the stanza. After a Beemer single, Bertrand brought home Boulter with a single. Grogg loaded the bases with a hit. Winkle grounded back to the pitcher, Beemer scored. Again, Delewski ended the scoring with a single to bring home Grogg.

Jared Locke (Toledo) went six and two-thirds for his second win on the campaign.  He struck out three and walked three.

Michael Sandman (Ball State) worked an inning and a third of shutout ball.

Boulter finished with three hits,  two RBI and two runs scored. Delewski went 3-5 with four runs batted in and a run scored.

Brill hit Webster’s only other home run this year. It was an inside-the-park job against Hornell.

With the win Webster improves to 14-14 on the season.
