Section V Baseball to induct five into Hall of Fame

Peter Agostinelli and Richard Reynolds both started their careers at Brockport High before making their way to minor league baseball. Rick Czajkowski played three of varsity baseball at Bath-Haverling and was selected out of high school by the Houston Astros. Pep Johnson’s Batavia high teams won four sectional titles during his 26-year tenure, and Richard Smith struck out 156 batters during his senior season at Irondequoit. Former 49ers head coach Lee Rose nominated for Hall of Fame

Former Charlotte 49ers men’s basketball coach Lee Rose, who has devoted over 50 years to the sport of basketball, has been nominated for enshrinement into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. The list of candidates for the 2016 class was released by the Basketball Hall of Fame, today, and included Rose, who guided the 49ers to the 1976 NIT Finals and the 1977 NCAA Final Four.
