Former Monroe star and Rochester native Messiah Hampton finished with six catches for 71 yards and two touchdowns on Friday night as No. 21 Oregon (2-1) took down Portland State 84-0.
The freshman scored his first career college touchdown late in the second quarter on a seven-yard fade route from quarterback Dante Moore before finding the endzone again on a 16-yard diving touchdown catch from quarterback Dylan Raiola in the third quarter.
Through three games, Hampton has nine receptions for 102 yards. He ranks third on the Ducks in catches and fourth in yards.
Hampton was a pivotal piece of the 2025 Monroe football team that won the NYS Class B title. He was named the NYS Class B Player of the Year as well as the NYS Gatorade Player of the Year in 2025. In his senior campaign he logged 62 catches, 13 of which were for touchdowns. He finished with 1,224 receiving yards, a Section V record.
Oregon will hit the road to take on No. 12 USC next Saturday.
