Loren Green scored five of her game-high 14 points in the first half tp help stake Rochester to a double-digit lead heading into the break. Green connected once from the floor and converted on a trio of free throws as the local team grabbed a 29-16 lead. Emerson Wandtke added seven of her 12 points during the opening stanza. Eva Dixon and Braelyn Isaman chipped in eight points apiece in the win while Sophia Frayne and Avery Kroening both had five points. Alyssa Cowart (1), Petra Hunt (2), Emalyn Mucher (2), Semaj Jackson (2) and Alicia Wood (2) also contributed for Rochester. Lia Biscardi led Nassau with nine points.
ROCHESTER (GIRLS) 68 SOUTHERN TIER 45
Rochester closed pool play unbeaten and advance to the semifinals to face Hudson Valley. That game is scheduled for a 10:30 AM tipoff on Sunday.
ROCHESTER (BOYS) 95 SUFFOLK 49
Brayden Stedman and Jonah Bialek connected on a pair of 3-pointers apiece in the first half as Rochester sprinted to a 22-point lead. Stedman hit four triples in the game as part of an overall team effort that saw Rochester find the range from distance 14 times in the win. Jackson Green led the offense with 17 points. Landon Washburn added 16 while Nemo Pye hit a pair of triples and finished with 10 points. Roman Maldonado (9), Mateo Pietrantoni (8), Campbell Mucher (7), Jonah Bialek (6), Jake McCarthy (5), Dylan Washburn (2) and Antonio Nurse (1) also contributed to the score sheet. LJ Merchant, Julian Croke and Allan Whitty each accounted for eight points to lead Suffolk.
ROCHESTER (BOYS) 84 NORTH COUNTRY 68
Trevor Nally hit five 3-pointers and led three in double figures as Rochester closed pool play with a record of 3 wins and 1 loss to clinch a spot in the tournament semifinals. Nally’s five triples were one-third of Rochester’s output from long range. Jonah Bialek hit four treys and finished with 12 points. Nemo Pye connected twice from distance and had 10 points in the win. Campbell Mucher (8), Mateo Pietrantoni (8), Landon Washburn (8), Roman Maldonado (5), Brayden Stedman (5), Dylan Washburn (4) and Jackson Green (3) also scored. Rochester will play Capital in the in the semifinals. A 9 AM tipoff is scheduled on Sunday.
