ROCHESTER (GIRLS) 60 MID-HUDSON 30
Loren Green scored nine of her game-high 17 points in the first half to help Rochester open a 16-point lead heading into the break. Green connected on a pair of 3-pointers in the opening frame as the locals took a 36-20 advantage. Lucy Bush connected for times from the floor including once from distance and scored all nine of her points in the opening half. Semaj Jackson and Alicia Wood added eight points apiece in the win. Eva Dixon scored six. Braelyn Isaman, Sophia Frayne and Emerson Wandtke contributed four apiece. Kallie McCoy led Mid-Hudson with 12 points.
ROCHESTER (GIRLS) 53 BUFFALO 33
Semaj Jackson, Avery Kroening and Emerson Wandtke led a balanced attack with eight points apiece as Rochester went unbeaten in the first day of the Summer Hoops Festival. Trio combined for 16 first-half points to pace a 26-11 effort for the local squad. Braelyn Isaman added seven points in the win. Eva Dixon (4), Lucy Bush (4), Loren Green (4), Alicia Wood (3), Emalyn Mucher (3), Alyssa Cowart (2) and Sophia Frayne (2) also scored in the win. Lucy Giordano led Buffalo with 11 points.
The Rochester girls will play Nassau and Southern Tier on Saturday as the annual Summer Hoops Festival continues.
ROCHESTER (BOYS) 84 MID-HUDSON 35
Landon Washburn led four in double figures with 15 points. Washburn connected seven times from the floor including once from behind the 3-point arc in the win. Jackson Green scored eight of his 13 points in the first half when Rochester opened a 38-20 lead. Jonah Bialek hit a pair of 3-pointers as part of an 11-point effort. Campbell Mucher hit three 3s and finished with 11 points. Nemo Pye (9), Antonio Nurse (8), Mateo Pietrantoni (6), Brayden Stedman (5), Trevor Nally (2), Roamn Maldonado (2) and Dylan Washburn (2) also contributed to the scoring.
CENTRAL (BOYS) 64 ROCHESTER 63
Jackson Green scored 16 of his game-high 23 points in the first half when Rochester grabbed a 41-31 lead. Green connected once from the 3-point arc in the opening stanza and converted 5-of-5 free throws. Landon Washburn added 13 points while Nemo Pye accounted 10. Brayden Stedman (3), Jonah Bialek (3), Roman Maldonado (2), Campbell Mucher (7) and Mateo Pietrantoni (2) also scored. Jace Bukowski led Central with 14 points.
Rochester boys will play Suffolk and North Country on Saturday.
