Brady House hit for the first cycle for a Rochester player since 2004 as the Red Wings broke a four-game losing streak with a 10-4 victory over the Worcester Red Sox on Friday.

House tripled in the first, doubled in the third, hit his sixth AAA home run of the season in the fifth, and singled to lead off the top of the ninth, finishing the game with 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. He’s the first Red Wing to hit for the cycle since Michael Restovich had a “natural cycle” (hitting a single, double, triple and home run in that order) on May 8, 2004. It’s the first road cycle since John Shelby accomplished the feat on August 6, 1981 at Syracuse.

The Red Sox took an early lead when leadoff hitter Braiden Ward walked and then stole second, moving to third on a throwing error by Harry Ford. He then scored on a wild pitch by Luis Perales to make it 1-0.

Rochester (53-37 overall, 7-9 in the second half) responded in the top of the second, as Ford walked and then moved to third when Trey Lipscomb doubled. Ford scored in the next at-bat when Joey Wiemer grounded out, and Lipscomb came home on a Riley Adams doubled soon after to give the Wings 2-1. House extended the lead to 3-1 when he recorded his double in the third, bringing in Yohandy Morales.

While Worcester cut the lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the third, that would be the last run for the Red Sox until the bottom of the ninth. In between, the Red Wings scored seven unanswered runs, including House’s solo home run in the fifth and two runs each in the seventh, eighth, and ninth.

Beside House, the Red Wings were led offensively by Lipscomb, who went 3-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored. Adams went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and an RBI. Cayden Wallace hit his first AAA home run, a two-run shot in the seventh. Every Red Wing hitter had at least one hit as the squad.

Perales earned the win, going five innings while allowing four hits, five walks, and two runs (one earned) while striking out four. Luke Young then took over with a hitless sixth, before Jack Sinclair went two shutout innings while striking out four. Cole Henry only went one-third in the bottom of the ninth before leaving due to injury shortly after giving up a two-run home run to Tyler McDonough, but Paxton Schultz finished off the Red Sox to finish the game.

Rochester continues its series with Worcester on Saturday when the two squads face off at 4:05 p.m. Chandler Champlain is scheduled to start for the Wings.
