ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and sometimes it rains. For the Rochester Red Wings, Sunday was one of those rain days, as a wave of storms mixed with a continued threat of severe weather forced the cancellation of their series finale with the Worcester Red Sox.
The game will not be made up, and keeps the Red Wings at 42-25 overall. The Memphis Redbirds won their game on Sunday, 11-7, putting them at 43-26 – just percentage points behind the Red Wings for the top spot in the International League in the first half. The Nashville Sound, currently sitting 1.5 games back, had not yet finished their game.

Fans who had tickets to Sunday’s game will be able to trade them in at the team’s ticket office for a rain check to any remaining Red Wings home game in 2026.
The Red Wings begin their final series of the first half on Tuesday, when they host the Toledo Mud Hens at 6:45 p.m. Should the Red Wings hold the best winning percentage in the International League at the end of next Sunday, they will clinch their first playoff appearance since 2013.

I didn’t like the first cancellation but the 2nd one eliminated that nasty 1/2 game thing. By us playing 2 fewer games than Memphis (assuming no more cancellations) a tie favors the Red Wings. So we still control our own destiny. Just keep winning guys!! You can do it.
