JJ Johnson led Lyons to a state semifinal appearance. Brody Vance carried Andover-Whitesville to program-first regional final, and Landon Washburn played the lead role as Honeoye claimed a second straight sectional title.
The trio highlighted a list of more than two dozen Section V student-athletes who garnered 2025-26 Small School All-State honors as announced by the New York State Sportswriters Association (NYSSWA).
Johnson averaged 18.3 points and 11.6 rebounds per game in leading the Lions to their 23rd sectional title and eventual seventh state semifinal appearance in program history. The 6-foot-6 center was named to the NYS Class C First Team. Johnson also handed out 2.0 assists and blocked 2.0 shots per game. He was named to the Section V Class C1 All-Tournament team. The Wayne County League Player of the Year is committed to play football and basketball at NJCAA DI Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Fellow Lyons Lions Steven LeBrecht (Third Team Class C) and Contrell Parker Jr. (Ninth Team Class C) also earned All-State honors LeBrecht was the Section V Class C1 Tournament MVP. Junior guard Jah Jah Smith was named to Honorable Mention list.
Washburn, the Finger Lakes West Player of the Year, also was named the NYSSWA Class C First Team. The 6-foot-7 guard/forward averaged 34.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. He posted 20 double-double performances in 25 games played including four triple-doubles. The two-time Section V Class C2 Tournament MVP topped the 40-point mark on four occasions with a season-high of 49 against Keshequa on December 23rd.
Dylan Washburn was named to the Tenth Team while Honeoye junior Braiden Schneider earned Honorable Mention.

World of Inquiry’s Devin Dillon (Fifth Team) along with Fillmore’s Campbell Mucher (Seventh Team), York’s Parker Bonefede (Eighth) and Fillmore’s Jonah Bialek (11th) also earned All-State selections.
Zach Deck (Cuba-Rushford), Avery Hepler (Geneseo), Maddox Mannella (Naples), Oren Ray (Geneseo), Adam Roe (Cuba-Rushford), Brody Ryan (Dundee-Bradford), Aiden Upright (Keshequa) and Hunter Vogt (Gananda) received Honorable Mention.

Vance, the top scorer in Section V Class D, averaged 29.9 points during the regular season and was named to the NYSSWA Class D First Team . The junior earned Tournament MVP honors in leading the Panthers to their first sectional title as a merged program.

Fellow Panthers Vincent Joyce (Fourth Team) and Colton Calladine (Sixth Team) also earned All-State selections.
Hammondsport’s Henry Morrison (Third Team) along with Elba’s Ryan Marsciell (Fourth) and Nick Scott (Sixth) also earned selections.
Jim Ainsworth (Jasper-Troupsburg), Edward Colon (Mount Morris), Josh Davidson (Houghton), Brady Werth (Elba) and Landon Zver (Jasper-Troupsburg) were named to the Honorable Mention list.
Seniors Jayden Capers (Bishop Kearney/Chesterton Academy) and Carson Chaffee (Canisteo-Greenwood) topped the Class B selections earning spots on NYSSWA Third Team.

C.G. Finney senior Braelen Broome was named to the Class B Sixth Team while Maddox Volpe (Bishop Kearney/Chesterton), the Section V Class B2 Tournament MVP, earned a Seventh Team nod.
East Rochester’s Justice Allen and Le Roy’s Grady Gilligan were named to the Eighth Team.

Judah Tanner (East Rochester) was named to the Ninth Team while Matthew Hockey (Le Roy) and Jaiden Pascoe (Bishop Kearney/Chesterton) received 12th Team selections. Braeden Cimineri (Mynderse) was named to the Class B 13th Team.
Demayne Dixon (Hornell), Alex Fedorchuk (Wayland-Cohocton), Trenton Green (Wellsville), Cole Hangi (Wayland-Cohocton), James Smith (Canisteo-Greenwood) and Ben Woolever (Hornell) received Honorable Mention.
