MCQUAID (16-8) 0

McQuaid fell in the Class AAA Far West Regional despite a strong start from Cole Englert, who struck out 10 while allowing two hits in five innings. READ MORE.

WILLIAMSVILLE EAST (VI) 1
WEBSTER THOMAS (19-5) 5

Two squeeze bunts during a four-run sixth inning propelled Webster Thomas to a Far West Regional victory on Saturday morning. Max Seaver earned the win on the mound for the Titans, allowing four hits and striking out three in six innings of work. Webster Thomas next plays in the state semifinal next Friday, June 13, at Union Endicott High School. READ MORE.

CLASS A

AMHERST (VI) 0
PITTSFORD MENDON (18-6) 1

A two-out RBI double from Sam Harrigan in the bottom of the ninth sent Pittsford Mendon to the state semifinal round, ending a game that saw pitcher Cam Barbulean throw a complete game shutout, striking out 16. It’s the Vikings’ second trip to the state semifinals and their first since 2001. Pittsford Mendon plays its semifinal game next Friday at Binghamton’s Mirabito Stadium. READ MORE.

CLASS C

GOWANDA (VI) 8
KENDALL (23-2) 1

Nic Cole drove in a run with a seventh-inning single and struck out seven in 4.1 relief innings of two-hit ball, but Kendall fell in the Far West Regional. Sammy Conte and Mikey Colucci also singled for the Eagles, with Colucci stealing a base. Vinnie D’Agostino reached base on a hit-by-pitch and later scored Kendall’s lone run.

CLASS D

FRANKLINVILLE (VI) 3
FILLMORE (15-7) 4

A two-out walkoff single through the middle from Damon Potter in the bottom of the seventh sent Fillmore to the state semifinals round. Potter also started the game on the mound, going six innings while striking out six. The Eagles play their semifinal game in Binghamton this coming Friday. READ MORE.
