Monroe County Division I foes clash on Tuesday with the Section V Girls’ Soccer Class AAA championship on the line. Fairport and Rush-Henrietta will meet at Webster Schroeder High School for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff. Here is what you need to know:

How they arrived here: As top seed in the three-team bracket, Fairport earned a bye to the championship. Rush-Henrietta defeated No. 3 RCSD United 4-nil to clinch a spot in the finals. Tiana Phouangphanh, Layla McLean, Rachel Lureman and Arabella Kroesen each found the back of the net in the first half to lead the Royal Comets. Kroesen also set up Phouangphanh’s tally. Gianna Fregoe accounted for an assist. Maia Verstraete and Natalie Wood made two saves apiece to combine for the shutout.

Trends: Fairport has won three straight and four of five heading into Tuesday’s matchup. Rush-Henrietta is looking to win back-to-back games for the first time this season. Fairport took both of the regular season meetings by scores of 6-1 and 5-0.

History 101: Tuesday will be the second straight year, Fairport and R-H will meet in the Class AAA final. Fairport won the 2023 title when Andrea Wilson scored in the second overtime with an assist from Avery Slater. The Red Raiders will be looking to win their eighth sectional championship and third in five years. Rush-Henrietta is looking for its first championship in program history.
What’s next: The winner will face the Section VI champion in the Far West Regional on Saturday, November 9th. That game will be played at Williamsville East High School.
A 6:30 p.m. kickoff is scheduled Tuesday at Webster Schroeder.
