Naples native Megan Musnicki and the USA Women’s Eights team will row for gold at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

The boat, which also includes Watkins Glen-born Olivia Coffey, won the repechage on Thursday morning, finishing the 2000 meter course in 6:03.93, coming back from third after 500 meters and second after 1500 meters to overtake the Canadians down the stretch.

The Americans go for gold on Saturday, August 3, at 4:50 A.M. Eastern. A top-three finish would give Musnicki her third Olympic medal- she won gold in London and Rio. Musnicki and the Eights boat finished fourth in Tokyo.

More details on the Olympic athletes from the Rochester can be found in our preview article.
