ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A spirited locker room discussion led to a change on the court as the Eastridge girls’ basketball team won its third straight with a 56-42 victory over host Greece Arcadia/Olympia.

Six different players found the bottom of the net in third quarter when Eastridge (13-5) used a 17-2 advantage to pull away from a four-point game.

“We have three games left,” said first-year head coach Charisse Everett echoing her sentiments shared during halftime. “Every game we have to attack We have to have a different second half. This is leading up to sectionals. How we are playing now? We don’t want that to continue.”

The Lancers came out and scored the first 10 points of the third quarter.

Alyssa Cowart grabbed a loose ball on the defensive end of the court and led Liv Green along the right side of the floor. Green caught Ada Krupa in stride with a diagonal pass for a layup to start the third-quarter offense. Two trips later down the court, Krupa returned the favor and set up Green for a bucket.

Cowart led Green for another basket and then followed with one of her own to force Arcadia/Olympia to call a timeout.

Ella Scantlin scored in the lane to make it a 33-19 game.

The Lancers had a double-digit lead they did not surrender.

Madyson Fizer converted a pair of free throws, and T.T. Green also contributed a basket.

“That’s our thing,” Everett said. “We play as a team. If you have the opportunity to shoot, shoot. We can’t put points up if everybody doesn’t look to shoot. It definitely has to be a five-person game.”

“Anything that you can do to keep the ball moving is what we’ve been working on these past couple of weeks,” Everett said. “It showed tonight.”
