Friday Girls’ Basketball Wrap: Double-double efforts from Belcher and Tyler lead Dansville; Mai dials long distance to keep Mendon unbeaten

Shaye Angelo poured in 21 points, and HF-L rebounded from its first loss of the season. Caroline Smith finished with 13 points, five rebounds and five steals in the win. Madison Schubach added to the effort with 13 points and six rebounds. Haley Leonard topped Churchville-Chili’s scorer with 12 points. Emma Healy had 10 for the Saints. HF-L fell to Pittford Sutherland earlier in the week.

Keira Wilson finished with 16 points and six rebounds to lead Brockport. Lydia Childs added eight points and seven rebonds while Mia Tyndell had eight points and six rebounds in the win.

Jada Crocker scored 14 points to lead Fairport which started the third quarter on a 15-2 run to pull away from a two-point game. Livea Amadori added nine points in the win. Kristina Baller scored 12 to pace the Thomas offense.

Natalie Mai scored 10 of her team-high 26 points in the third quarter when Mendon pulled away from a one-possession game. The junior connected four times from the floor including a pair of 3-pointers as the Vikings outscored Spencerport 21-10 in the frame. Mai hit six triples in the contest part of an overall effort that saw Mendon find the range from distance 10 times in the contest. Kate Crowley added 11 points in the win while Cate Rathnam and Gabriela Esposito had eight apiece. Spencerport’s Jorga Gray matched Mai for game-high honors with 26 of her own. The sophomore forward scored 10 points in the first quarter.

Peyton Verkey scored eight of her 12 points in the first quarter when Mynderse jumped out to a 17-5 lead on the way to the Blue Devils third straight win. Verkey also grabbed 10 rebounds in the win. Sophi Palladino led the offense with 16 points while grabbing seven rebounds. Ali Nigro added 10 points. Lauren McDermott (7) and Chelsea Korzeniewski (4) also scored for Mynderse which held Wayne to single digits in each of the four quarters. Myia Eskander led Wayne with six points. Kasey Eaton and Samantha Branner added five points apiece. Alyson Johnson (3) and Bella Blood (2) also scored for the Eagles.

Taryn Goodness finished with 19 points, six steals and two assists while Shelby Geer accounted for 15 points, eight rebounds and an assist to lead Pal-Mac. Marianna Hodgins added 12 points, seven rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks in the win. Julia Belanger had five points, 10 rebounds, four assists and 3 steals. Aleigha D’Amato, Elise Tome, and Georgia Wirth had four points apiece. Mikayla Thomas added three points. Stella DelPapa led Midlakes with 11 points. Amelia Maslyn added six. Mia VanSavage and Emma LaBour had five points apiece. Azielle Cahill and Thelia Lewis both had two points.

Junior forward TaKyla Vaughn finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds in leading Newark to its third straight win. Teammate Karina Natale added 11 points, five assists and six steals while Malia Brown had five points and 13 rebounds in the win. Waterloo’s Maci Mueller led all scorers with 21 points. Gwyn Panek added 18 for the Tigers. Khia Moody (5), Delainey Battin (2) and Tangel Williams (1) also scored for Waterloo.

Aynsley Belcher and Megan Tyler registered a double-double apiece to lead Dansville. Belcher finished with 18 points, 14 rebounds, an assists and two blocks while Tyler had 18 points, 10 rebounds, an assist and a steal. Kali Meyer connected on four 3-pointers as part of 16-point effort. Meyer also had three assists and three steals. Emma Butters (2) Taylor Hamsher (2), Chelsie Tyler (5) and Eleni Mountzouros (2) also scored for the Mustangs. Chelsie Tyler had 11 rebounds and four steals. Dansville held Le Roy to five second-half points. Abby Allen led the Oatkan Knights with seven points.

Lola Coots scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Haverling bounced back from its first loss of the season. Emma Luckenbach had four points and six rebounds in the win. Madison Coots finished with eight rebounds and one point. Allison Elmore grabbed seven rebounds. Leah Krelie (2) and Jadyn Pragle (2) also scored for the Rams. Sasha Bellamy led Letchworth with eight points. Annika Milillo (4), Emily Perl (2), Abbie DeRock (1) and Charity Scott (4) scored for Letchworth.

Jayla Bell finished two steals shy of a triple-double as the junior guard stuffed the stat sheet with 25 points, 11 rebounds, eight steals and six assists as Lyons won its second straight game. Milleniyah Glanton accounted for 11 points, 16 rebounds, three assists and three steals in the win while Car’Mella Parker had nine points, six rebounds and three steals. Kyla Betts added eight points, four rebounds, an assist and a steal. Samantha Figueroa had eight points, two rebounds, three assists and two steals. Areyanna Carter (7) and Kalani Davis (5) also scored for the Lions.
