Lauryn Smith finished 2-for-4 on the day including what proved to be the game winner with a two-out, two-run double in the top of the seventh to lift Fairport to its third straight win. Smith brought in Nicole Allen and Magdalen Brei to give the Red Raiders a 5-1 lead. Alllen homered, doubled, walked drove in two runs and scored two more to lead the Fairport offense.

Currin Rosato finished 3-for-4 on the day and crossed home three times including a run in the fifth to give Canandaigua a lead it did not surrender. With the game tied at three, Rosata led the frame with a base hit. One out later, the senior shortstop moved to third on a Kathryn Cywinski single to left. Sarah Goodsell walked, and Rosato came home on a Gwen Pogue RBI fielder’s choice for a 4-3 Braves lead. Cywinski scored on a Mal Baxter base hit. Cywinski was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Emerson Broomfield struck out three and allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits and three walks over seven innings for the win. Broomfield was 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, walk and two RBI. Baxter went 2-for-4. Ariana Buchiere singled, walked and scored. Kelley Burnett walked and scored. Lilly Petitti was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI to lead Brockport. Maeve Petitti went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two run scored. Brooke Downey hit her first home run. Ari Guerrero and Mariah Sagrafena added an RBI apiece.

Lilly Goldberg capped a sixth-inning rally with a two-run double, and Mendon won its fifth straight game. Trailing 2-0, Lola Clarcq led the decisive inning with a base hit. Leilani Hernandez followed with a bunt single. Alex Van Ginhoven brought home Clarcq with Mendon’s first run setting the stage for Goldberg’s eventual game-winner. Goldberg struck out 10 and allowed six hits in the win.

Ruby Marrapese finished with two RBI on the day including a walk-off as Webster Thomas put together back-to-back wins. Emma Bello and Ella Maloney both went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the win. Julia Maciag was 3-for-5.

Kailey Besio struck out 10 and allowed two earned run over 5.1 innings to pick up and finished 3-for-4, with three RBI as Irondequoit bounced back from a loss with its seventh win in the past eight games. Marlayna Cartagena was 3-for-4, with two doubles and struck out five over 1.2 innings for the save. Cayden Catalina added two RBI. Eastridge’s Harper Kuehne was 1-for-3 with an RBI while Emma Johnson had two hits in three at-bats with an RBI.

Juliana Catalano finished 3-for-4 on the day including a leadoff home run in the second inning when Fairport went on to scored six runs. Catalano drove in two on the day. Nicole Allen was 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored. Millie Reed tripled and collected two RBI in the win. Kailey Gardner struck out seven without allowing a walk over six innings to pick up the win. Waverly Milliman singled, walked, drove in a run and also scored. Allyson Beardsley singled, walked and scored. Makayla Strack and Emma Johnson had a single apiece. Maddison Breuer singled and scored the lone Penn Yan run.

Olivia Sheffer went 4-for-5 on the day and finished a triple shy of the cycle with three RBI as Rush-Henrietta won its fourth straight game and eighth in the past nine. Sheffer singled and scored in a four-run fourth when the Royal Comets took a lead they did not surrender at 7-3. The senior connected on a two-run blast in the sixth. Kadyn Hartel struck out six and improved to 13-4 on the season. At the plate, Hartel singled, walked and scored. Chloe Smith was 4-for-4 with a run scored. Elizabeth Gleghorn went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Elizabeth Rinella singled, walked twice, drove in a run and scored another. Samantha Williams singled, drove in a run and scored another. Katelyn Militello singled, walked twice, drove in a run and scored two more. Mercy sophomore Annika Van Damme was 3-for-4 with a triple, two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored. Katherine Abbamonte was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Madeline Oleksyn and Leah Sperry both singled and drove in a run. Ava Verdi doubled and also scored a run.

Liana DeValder struck out 11, hurled a 3-hitter and for 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI as Schroeder won its third straight game and sixth in the past seven. Sarah Ferruzza was 2-for-2 with a run scored. Kinsley Keil singled and drove in a run. Mikayla Bengsch was 1-for-2 with a walk and stolen base. Bizzie Baglieri had an RBI sacrifice fly.

Haylee Beesley finished 3-for-4 and crossed home three times including a single and run scored in the eighth when Waterloo clinched the 2023 Strike Out Cancer Tournament championship. Kennedy Beniamino added a pair of insurance run with a double as Waterloo erased a three-run deficit to win its sixth straight game. Nadya Clingerman threw all eight innings and struck out six to pick up the win. The senior pitcher also collected two RBI and a run scored. Gwyneth Panek singled, walked and scored twice. Emily Plate, Brynn Rogers and Tangel Williams each had a single in the win. Julianna Lyons finished 3-for-4 with a run scored for Sutherland which jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning.

Tia Lehtonen finished 3-for-5 with a double and a triple while Gabby Lyons and Julianna Lyons connected on a home run apiece to lead Sutherland in the opening round of the 2023 Waterloo Strike Out Cancer Tournament. Maddy Ward allowed six hits in a complete-game effort to pick up the win.

Gwyneth Panek tripled twice in three at-bats, walked scored three runs and drove in another. Haylee Beesley was 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and two runs scored. Nadya Clingerman drove in three runs with two doubles and also scored three times. Logan Amidon was 2-for-4 with a double. Madison Westerberg singled and drove in a run. Delilah Rogers singled and drove in three runs for Aquinas.

Ashlyn Wright struck out 15 in a complete-game effort while Emma Macartney and Calla McCombs collected three hits apiece to lead Bloomfield to its fifth straight win. McCombs doubled, drove in three runs and scored another in six at-bats. Maccartney was 3-for-3 with a triple, two walks, four RBI and two runs scored. Sawyer Gallup was 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored. Syd Falsone tripled, walked twice and scored two runs. Cece Falsone had three RBI and a run scored. Wright scattered a hit and two walks for Bloomfield’s second straight shutout and seventh overall this season. Wright also singled, walked, drove in a run and scored twice.

Kendall Phillips struck out 17 without allowing a walk in a six-inning no-hitter and finished 4-for-5 at the plate with a double and triple to lead Byron-Bergen. Natalie Prinzi and Noel Dormann both went 2-for-4 while six other from the Byron-Bergen lineup connected for hits. Elba’s Bri Totten struck out five.

Notre Dame-Batavia rallied in the seventh with Emma Sisson driving in the winning run with a fly ball to left field that was mishandled. Mia Treleaven scored the winning run. Junior pitcher Loretta Sorochty struck out 13 over 6 and 2/3 innings of relief giving up four hits and one run for the win. ND-B had nine hits, with Katie Landers, Sonji Warner and Mia Treleaven accounting for all of the base raps. Landers led the way with four singles, three runs scored and an RBI, Warner had three singles and three RBI. Treleaven had a double, single, walk and scored a run.

Notre Dame-Batavia cruised to the championship of its bracket at the Mudville Softball Tournament in Herkimer, New York. Tournament MVP Loretta Sorochty struck out 13 and hurled a two-hitter. Offensively, the ND-B had nine hits in the game with Kaydence Stehlar and Emma Sisson leading the way with two hits each. Stehlar had two singles, two runs scored and an RBI. Sisson accounted for two singles and a run scored. Chipping in with a hit apiece were Sorochty, Katie Landers, Mia Treleaven, Cayleigh Havens and Amelia Sorochty.
