ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Garrett Clar and Victor continued to stay unbeaten. Jackson Mulcahy helped Webster Thomas to its fourth win in five games. Xavier Smith and Greece Arcadia defeated a crosstown foe, and Nolan Smith (Honeoye Falls-Lima) topped the 20-point mark for the sixth time this season. The four student-athletes were named Player of the Week (January 23rd-28th) for their respective divisions as announced by Monroe County coaches.
Clar scored 24 points and distributed five assists without a turnover in a 55-51 win over Aquinas. He earned his second straight and third Monroe County Division I Player of the Week (POTW) honor this season. The junior guard connected on 10-of-13 shots from the floor and 3-of-4 from the free throw line in his fifth 20-plus point performance this season. Clar also accounted for four rebounds and two steals in a battle of top teams in Class AA.

Mulcahy finished a rebound shy of a double-double in a Webster Thomas victory over reigning Class A1 champion, Pittsford Mendon. He was named Division II POTW. The senior forward scored 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor including 2-of-5 from behind the 3-point arc. He also converted 4-of-4 free throws in the win – the fourth in five games for the Titans. The 20-point output was the fourth in eight outings for the 6-foot-5 forward. Mulcahy also had two blocks and an assist to go along with nine rebounds.
Xavier Smith posted a double-double in Arcadia’s win over Greece Olympia to earn Division III POTW. The 6-foot-2 sophomore center scored a season-high 21 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. He grabbed 13 rebounds including 10 on the defensive end of the floor. Smith also had two assists and two steals in the win. Smith has scored in double figures 10 times this season.
Nolan Smith topped the 20-point mark for the sixth time this season to garner Monroe County Division IV POTW. The 6-foot-6 senior forward scored 25 points on 11-of-16 shooting from the floor and 3-of-4 from the free throw line. He grabbed seven rebounds and blocked three shots in HF-L’s only outing of the week. The performance was the third in four games when Smith scored 20 or more points.
