Drew Angelo (Honeoye Falls-Lima) and Khorie Reaves (Greece Athena) logged season-highs. Garrett Clar and Victor continued an undefeated march while Jason Gibbs (Churchville-Chil) reached a personal milestone. The four were named Player of the Week (January 16-21) for their respective divisions as announced by Monroe County coaches.
Clar averaged 21 points in a pair of wins last week to earn Monroe County Division I Player of the Week (POTW). The junior forward/guard scored 27 in a 65-56 victory over Pittsford Mendon. He followed that performance with 15 points in a 73-37 win over Canandaigua in the Scott Zahn Memorial Classic. Clar connected on 16-of-22 shots from the floor including 6-of-9 from behind the 3-point arc for the week. He also averaged five rebounds and 2.5 assists in garnering his second POTW of the season.

Gibbs netted a season-high 35 points including the 1,000th of his career in a 76-71 win over Gates-Chili to nab Division II POTW for the second time this season. In C-C’s lone game of the week, Gibbs collected six rebounds, three assists and two steals. He shot 48 percent from the floor and hit 2-of-4 attempts from behind the 3-point arc. The performance was the second time this season when Gibbs scored 30 or more points. He currently leads Division II with 21 points per game.
Reaves highlighted a week in which he averaged 24.5 points over two wins with a 30-point effort in a league win to earn DIII POTW. Reaves registered a season-high with 30 points in a 67-61 triumph over Pittsford Mendon. The junior guard connected on 12-of-25 shots from the floor in the game and finished with 10 rebounds for a double-double to go with three assists, two steals and two deflections. Reaves opened the week scoring 19 in a 68-39 win over Brockport. He hit 7-of-15 attempts including 2-of-4 from long range and 3-of-4 from the free throw line while handing out three assists and three rebounds.

Angelo poured in a season-high 33 points in a 74-73 victory over league rival Eastridge to earn Division IV Player of the Week. The junior guard connected on 11-of-20 shots from the floor including 7-of-11 from behind the 3-point arc. Angelo also converted on 4-of-4 attempts from the free throw line while handing out eight assists in what was then HF-L’s third straight win. He also grabbed four rebounds and collected one steal in the Cougars’ only outing of the week.
