ROCHESTER, NY – RIT senior forward Kevin Ryan scored 22 points in the Tigers 82-68 win over Clarkson, Saturday.
Clarkson’s Blake Gearhart hit a three-pointer early in the game to give the Golden Knights a 5-0 lead.
Sophomore guard Brock Bowen hit a three-pointer off an assist from Ryan to give the Tigers a 7-5 lead.
Junior forward Kenny Wilburn scored and converted the free throw to increase the RIT lead to 14-7.
Bowen scored an old-fashioned three-point play with 11:24 remaining to give RIT a 21-9 lead, while junior guard Matt Caggiano made it 23-9, RIT.
Garret Delaney his a three-pointer to cut the RIT lead to 23-15, and scored again with 8:01 to play to make it a four-point lead.
Ryan, who scored 14 points in the first half, gave the Tigers a 33-21 lead on his layup off an assist from senior guard Keegan Ocorr.
Gearhart hit a bucket with time running out in the first half to cut the RIT lead to 41-34.
Ocorr scored early in the second half to build the RIT lead to 14 points.
Fox made it a 16-point Tigers lead on his jumper, while Ryan gave the Tigers a 61-44 lead on his layup with 12:11 remaining.
Fox scored with 9:26 remaining to give the Tigers their largest lead of 22 points.
Sean Enelamah hit a three-pointer with 1:36 to play that cut the RIT lead to 78-68, but Caggiano scored in the closing seconds to make it an 82-68 final.
RIT shot 58.6 percent from the floor on 34-of-58 shooting, including five three-pointers.
The Tigers scored 44 of their 82 points in the paint.
Ocorr led RIT with eight assists, while Caggiano finished with 12 points off the bench.
Clarkson outrebounded RIT, 35-34.
