Batavia’s Rashawd Christie stuffed the stat sheet over three games. Garrett Clar helped Victor stay undefeated. Mendon’s Jackson Green posted double-doubles and reached a career milestone while Gio Schillaci’s marksmanship led Webster Schroeder to a pair of wins. The four were named Player of the Week (January 2nd-8th) for their respective divisions as announced by Monroe County coaches.
Clar averaged 16.5 points and 4.5 assists over two games to earn Monroe County Division I Player of the Week (POTW). The junior guard/forward scored 11 points in the Blue Devils’ 75-46 non-league win over Newark. He followed that with 22 points including five 3-pointers in a 69-39 triumph over league foe, Rush-Henrietta. Clar collected two steals in last week’s contests while committing one turnover. He also accounted for 2.5 rebounds per game.

Schillaci scored 53 points and connected on 55 percent of his attempts from the floor to nab Division II POTW. Schillaci contributed 24 points in Schroeder’s 68-56 win over Hilton to start the week and ended with a 29-point performance in an 84-61 victory over Churchville-Chili. The senior guard converted on 8-of-17 attempts from behind the 3-point for the week and 10-of-16 from two-point range. He logged an eFG% (metric that factors 3-pointers as 1.5) of 66.7 percent. Schillaci converted 9-of-11 free throws while averaging five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Green posted double-doubles of 29 points/10 rebounds and 27 points/11 rebounds in wins over Batavia (63-59) and Rush-Henrietta (65-53) to earn DIII POTW. The senior guard finished 9-of-17 from the floor including 3-of-6 from distance against Batavia and 10-of-16 (1-of-3/3-pointers) versus R-H. The Princeton University commit averaged three assists and two steals for the week. Green also became the seventh player in Pittsford Mendon program history to score 1,000 points or more in his career.

Christie averaged 11.3 points and 7.0 rebounds over three games to earn Monroe County Division IV Player of the Week. The senior guard finished with 10 points, six rebounds and four assists in a loss to Mendon. He then collected six points, eight rebounds and three assists in a 66-40 win over Greece Arcadia. Christie capped the week with an 18-point, seven-rebound performance in a 64-54 win over Southwestern of Section VI.
