ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A conventional three-point play by freshman Grace Galgano gave the Roberts Wesleyan University women’s basketball team a one-point lead over The College of Saint Rose with 8:42 to play on Saturday afternoon at the Voller Athletic Center.
The visiting Golden Knights responded with a 20-11 run to close the game and earn a 65-57 non-conference win over the Redhawks.
Junior guard Georgia Haverlock led Roberts (1-5) with 17 points and three steals.
Freshman Paris Anthony added a career-high 11 points for Roberts and junior forward Emily Palmer scored nine. Junior guard Danielle DiCintio contributed eight points and led the Redhawks with seven rebounds and seven assists.
Roberts will open East Coast Conference play at 5:30 p.m. on Friday at Queens College.
