Trailing 54-47 with less than five minutes remaining in the game, Edison closed on a 15-5 run to take the RCAC opener for both teams. Sophomore Jabric Larkins scored five of his 13 points in the fourth quarter including a second-chance bucket off a missed free throw for the final margin of victory. Tyler Bethea hit three 3-pointers and led the Inventors with 16 points. Chris Taggart also connected three times from long range and scored 15 in the win. Davijon Lipscomb (9), Danta Phommannirath (5), Jabari Johnson (2) and Isaiah Wonneberg (2) also contributed for Edison which switched to man-to-man defense late in the game to spark the decisive run. Ian Metcalfe scored 16 points to pace McQuaid. Casey Montesano added 10 while Ian Florence had nine points. Chris Woodard (8), Patrick Tehan (6), Khaleeb Obieke (12), Gabe Zawolo (4) and Anthony DiMarco (2) also scored for the Jesuit Knights.

Jaquan Shears scored eight of his game-high 16 points in the first quarter when Monroe sprinted to a 29-7 lead and cruised to an easy win. Devon Hutcherson and Antonio Berrero scored 10 points apiece off the bench. Davion Jones, DaiQuon McKinney and Will McKinney each had nine. Kenny Scott and Casimer Bradford-Sawyer both contributed seven points while Felton Gray had six. Ronnie Moore converted a free throw. Early College’s Josh Jefferson scored nine points to lead the Cobras. Michael Stroughter had four points. Yazier Brown contributed two points for Early College.
