The St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team named its captains for the upcoming 2022-23 season, the team announced on twitter.

Guards Daryl Banks III and Moses Flowers, both redshirt juniors, have been tabbed as captains for the Bonnies this season. Banks transferred from Saint Peter’s of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, and Flowers transferred from Hartford of the America East Conference.

As a junior, Banks was part of the Peacocks’ Elite Eight run in the NCAA Tournament last season, averaging 13.5 points-per-game in four tourney games. Banks, a Hillside, N.J. native, averaged 11.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game in his 2021-22 season with Saint Peter’s.

Flowers, a Dorchester, Mass. native, averaged 14.7 points and 6.4 rebounds in close to 32 minutes per game last season for the Hawks. He also scored in double figures 23 times, including six 20-point performances.

The Bonnies are set to open its 2022-23 regular season at home against Saint Francis (Pa.) at 7 p.m. Nov. 7.

Bonaventure is coming off a 2021-22 campaign where they compiled a 23-10 record and made a deep run into the NIT semifinal round.
