Ja’Vin McFollins accounted for three of Batavia’s six touchdowns as the Blue Devils exploded for 28 first-half points and rolled in their home opener. McFollins recorded all three of his touchdowns in the first half, including a pair through the air. After a one-yard sneak to put the Blue Devils on the board, the senior quarterback found Carter McFollins for a 16-yard connection near the end of the opening period. Then Ja’Vin McFollins hurled a 31-yard scoring pass to Cole Grazioplene for a commanding 28-6 advantage right before halftime. The senior quarterback only needed six passes to accumulate 118 yards. Carter McFollins ran for 65 of his team-high 73 rushing yards on one play to the house in the second quarter. The senior multi-skilled player only needed a pair of receptions for 63 yards as well. Aavion Bethel and Cameron McClinic both contributed a rushing touchdown in the second half. Junior outside linebacker Mekhi Fortes led the stout defense with seven tackles, including one for a loss, and a pick. Garrett Schmidt followed up with six tackles while Mathew McWethy added five. For Livonia, Kyle Weterrings led with 13 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown in the second period.

Anthony Torres totaled four touchdowns to lead Geneva to its second straight win. The senior quarterback tossed a pair of scoring passes among his nine completions which totaled 234 yards. De’Sean Bruce and Timothy Moorer were the recipients of those touchdown passes. Bruce only needed four catches to accumulate 153 yards. Moorer added an interception on defense. Torres found the end zone on two of his six scrambles as well. Sophomore quarterback Xavier Praylor chipped in a touchdown pass to Kareem Guillory. Guillory rushed for a score as well. For Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton, sophomore running back Jackson Zangerle took off for an 85-yard punt return touchdown. Nathaniel Gardner led the defense with 12 tackles.

Matthew Meacham propelled four touchdowns as Honeoye Falls-Lima opened the season with back-to-back 40-point games. The junior quarterback completed 11-of-19 passes for 219 yards. Andrew Wanzenried was rewarded three of those touchdown passes as he collected six balls overall and totaled 157 yards. The junior wideout recorded nine tackles on defense as well. Patrick Donahoe commanded the ground game with 118 yards and scored on two of his nine carries. His scoring runs totaled 97 yards as well. Landon Hammond hustled for a pick-six.

Tommy Condidorio and Tony Piazza both ran in two touchdowns to ignite Le Roy from a 20-7 deficit in a game which combined for five scores in the final period. The junior duo combined for 255 of the Oatkan Knights’ 371 yards in the trenches and were led by Piazza’s 155. Jackson Fix contributed a score among his 44 rushing yards while Drew Strollo chipped in 72. Senior linebacker Jack Tonzi led the defense with seven tackles, including three for loss. Adrian Stephens picked off a pass.

Richard Townley and Trenton Woods both scored a pair of touchdowns as Alexander found the end zone on its first four offensive possessions in its home opener. Townley found paydirt on back-to-back drives on runs of nine and 28 yards, respectively, as he finished with 66 yards on only five carries. Junior quarterback Trenton Woods connected with Mason Bump on a three-yard touchdown to put the Trojans on the board. On defense, Woods anticipated a pass from the free safety position and took off for a 70-yard pick-six. Senior runner Kaden Lyons broke free for a 22-yard scamper to the house. Townley led the defensive shutout with 12 tackles while Christian Kissel recorded a sack.

CALEDONIA-MUMFORD/BYRON-BERGEN (2-0) 21
Anthony Leach, Austin Pittman and Malachi Smith all rushed for a touchdown as Caledonia-Mumford/Byron-Bergen produced a balanced offense in its home opener. Leach set the tone with a six-yard run early in the opening period. Smith broke through for a 26-yard score in the second quarter. Then Pittman assured the victory with a 35-yard sprint at the start of the final stanza. Jackson Peet led the shutout with 14 tackles. James Starowitz followed up with 11.
OAKFIELD-ALABAMA/ELBA (2-0) 70

Noah Currier punched the ball into the end zone on four of his 11 carries as Oakfield-Alabama/Elba unloaded 70 points for the second straight contest. The senior running back ran wild for 132 yards and added an interception on defense. Bodie Hyde scored three touchdowns of his own, including a pair on direct snaps. The junior quarterback scrambled for 138 yards plus a 10-yard touchdown pass. Hyde contributed on defense as well with four of his six tackles resulting in negative yardage. Connor Scott and Avery Watterson both contributed a rushing touchdown. T.J. Andrews, Austin Pangrazio and Brayden Smith all posted seven tackles. Pangrazio and Smith both had two tackles for loss while Andrews chipped in one. Pangrazio added a sack as well while Smith recorded a pair of pass break-ups.

After our opening score, Geneseo came right back down the field and answered with a score of their own. We needed to see if we could take one on the chin and not waver. Wesley Farley and Christopher Thompson split six touchdowns as Avon rebounded with a road win for its first victory of the season. Thompson did all his damage in the first half with back-to-back scores in the opening period on four and three yards, respectively, and a one-yard sneak right before intermission. This gave the Braves a commanding 28-6 advantage. Farley contributed with an eight-yard touchdown in response to York/Pavilion’s tally before taking over the second half with a pair of scores. The sophomore runner only needed three and nine yards, respectively, to punch the ball into the end zone. Farley finished with team-highs of 92 rushing yards and eight tackles. Thompson followed up with 79 yards on 18 handoffs. Senior quarterback Richard Brice moved the chains with 138 passing yards on 8-of-11 from the pocket. For York/Pavilion, Maddox Timothy put the Knights on the board with a 52-yard sprint near the end of the opening period. Kadin Peete rushed for 39 of his game-high 105 yards on one play to the house in the third quarter. The pair connected for an 11-yard touchdown in the final period as well.

The senior quarterback amassed 175 passing yards on 15 completions and scored once through the air and another via the trenches. Torance Washington was the recipient of Pagano’s touchdown pass as he recorded three catches for 64 yards. Junior rusher Jack Simpson guided the ground game with 90 yards on 14 carries plus a seven-yard catch.
