ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Inclement weather postponed three high school baseball games scheduled for Wednesday evening.

The New York State Class A Regional Qualifier between Webster Thomas (12-11) and Pittsford (16-7) along with the Class B qualifier pitting Palmyra-Macedon (22-0) and Haverling (19-2) have been rescheduled for Thursday along with the Class C Sub-Regional between Oakfield-Alabama (16-3) and Letchworth (15-4).

Webster Thomas (the Section V Class A1 champion) and A2 champ Pittford Sutherland will play Thursday at Greece Olympia. A 5:00 PM first pitch is scheduled. Both Thomas and Sutherland avenged regular season losses to claim championships. Thomas, which lost 12-0 in late April to crosstown rival Webster Schroeder, defeated the Warriors 7-6 Tuesday night to win a second straight title. Sutherland turned the tables on Greece Athena with a 14-2 victory in the A2 championship.

The Thomas-Sutherland winner will advance to the NYS Far West Regional to face Section VI representative, Hamburg. A bizarre ending that involved a pitcher being deemed ineligible led to the Bulldogs clinching a spot in the state quarterfinals. That regional will take place at Grand Island High School, Saturday at noon.

Pal-Mac and Haverling will now play a 4:30 start Thursday at Livonia High School. Pal-Mac, the only remaining unbeaten team in Section V, defeated Batavia 6-1 for its second straight Class B1 title. Haverling shut out Le Roy for its first sectional title in more than a decade. The winner will face Section VI representative Medina which defeated Depew, 4-1 to secure a spot in the state tourney for the second time in as many attempts. The Class B Far West Regional is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. first pitch Saturday at Monroe Community College.

C1 champ Letchworth will face C2 winner Oakfield-Alabama for a spot in the regional qualifier Friday night against C3 title winner Bolivar-Richburg (21-1). The Class C Far West Regional is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start Saturday at MCC. Section VI representative Portville defeated Gowanda to clinch a spot in Saturday’s regional.

Section V Class AA champion McQuaid Jesuit (16-5) will face Orchard Park (17-5) on Saturday at MCC. An 11 a.m. first pitch is scheduled.

Class D champ Fillmore (16-3) will meet Clymer-Sherman-Panama (16-1) in the Class D game. A noon start is scheduled Saturday at Salamanca High School.

Tickets for all games hosted by Section V can be purchased digitally. Click here for tickets. Paper tickets will not be available.
