Michael Whelehan’s walkoff base hit capped a late-inning rally as Hilton closed the regular season with its fourth straight win. Whelehan drove in Preston Prince with a two-out single for the game winner. Michael Heise reached on a one-out walk to start the rally and gave way to Prince as a pinch-runner. Prince moved to second on a passed ball to set up Whelehan. Drew Bateman hurled 3.1 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win. The senior allowed one hit and one walk. Trailing 6-2, Hilton scored a run in the sixth and three more in the seventh to tie the game. Luke Schofield plated Whelehan and James Capellupo with a two-out double in the seventh to send the game to extra innings. Schofield finished 2-for-4 on the day with three RBI. Steven Kraus was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Jeffery Broadnax was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Capellupo walked, drove in a run and scored twice. Carter Clark doubled. Athena’s TJ Kurtz doubled and drove in a pair of runs. Connor Osier singled, drove in two and scored once. Jayden Rapp collected a pair of doubles and scored a run. Evan Smith drove in a run with a double. Aleks Englert doubled and scored for the Trojans. Jaden Madrid singled and had an RBI.

RUSH-HENRIETTA (11-8) 9 (nine innings)
In the completion of a suspended game, Kyle Van Auker worked a bases-loaded walk to cap a four-run bottom of ninth as Rush-Henrietta avenged an earlier loss. Cameron Richards scored on VanAuker’s walk-off walk. Justin Angora led the R-H ninth with a single. Joe Grzeskowiak walked, and Tobey Wright drove in his third run of the game with a single. One out later, Richards singled to load the bases. Dillon Kelly brought in a run with a walk, and Connor Nyugen knotted the scored with an RBI single. Evan Brock struck out three over three innings of relief work to pick up the win. Grzeskowiak scored two runs in the game. Seamus Devlin, Alex Garcia and Justin Angora each crossed home for the Royal Comets. McQuaid’s CJ Phelps went 2-for-5 in the contest including a two-out, two-run triple in the top half of the ninth to give McQuaid an 8-5 lead. Daniel McAliney homered, drove in two and scored twice for the Jesuit Knights. Zach Allen tripled and came home twice. Luca Ciaramitaro was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Mekhi Stephens was 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Tanner DeGrazia singled, walked and scored a run. McQuaid defeated R-H in extra innings when the two teams met earlier this season.

Dillon Kelly struck out seven over 6.1 innings and improved his record to 2-2 on the season as Rush-Henrietta won its third straight and fifth in the past six games. Tobey Wright doubled and scored the go-ahead run in the fourth on an Evan Brock single. Brock also scored later in the game. Justin Angora went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Alex Garcia added an RBI in the win. Anthony Anzalone also crossed home for the Royal Comets.

HAVERLING (16-2) 11
AJ Brotz improved his record to 8-0 on the season as Haverling won its third straight game and 12th in the past 13 games. Brotz struck out nine over five one-hit innings. The senior also connected on a three-run home run, the first round-tripper hit out of the park at Haverling’s new field. With the knock, Brotz broke his own program record with his 35th hit of the season. Gavin Buckley finished 4-for-4 with two doubles, five RBI and a run scored in the win. Cayden Mattison walked and scored three times. Dakota Herrington singled and scored the lone Addison run. Jacob Howe drove in Herrington with a base hit.

Casey Burcroff and Devin Mulvey-Salerno both finished 4-for-5 on the day to pace the Waterloo offense. Burcroff doubled, tripled, stole two bases and drove in four runs. Mulvey-Salerno tripled, swiped four bags and collected three RBI. Dylan Bienvenue went 2-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases and an RBI. Ashton Seehase pitched two innings to pick up the win. Bloomfield’s Braedon Smith went 2-for-3 with a double and a stolen base.
