Preston Prince scattered four hits and two walks over five shutout innings as Hilton defeated Victor for the second time in three days. The senior left-hander struck out nine and did not allow a runner past second through the first four innings for his second win of the season. Carter Clark paced the offense going 2-for-3 on the day. The senior first baseman connected on a solo shot in the first inning and plated teammate Michael Whelehan with a single to spark a three-run sixth inning. Clark fanned three over two shutout innings of relief as well. Whelehan doubled, walked and scored two runs. Steven Kraus singled and also scored for the Cadets. Victor’s Weston Elkovitch finished 2-for-3 on the day. Cooper Loyal and Carter Fink had a single apiece for the Blue Devils.

Markus Brehm finished 2-for-3 with a three-run home run as part of a Wayland-Cohocton offense that collected a season-high 13 hits. Colin Mehlenbacher went 2-for-2, with two walks, four runs scored and four stolen bases in the win. Ethan Loop was 2-for-4 with four RBI. Brogan Cotter, Michael Gammell, and Matt Feinman added two hits apiece. Gammell struck out six and allowed two runs on five hits over six innings.

Seventh-grader Petra Hunt connected on a three-run home run and finished with four RBI on the day as Sutherland won its fourth straight game. Riley Gonzalez went 3-for-4 to pace a 15-hit attack that saw six different Knights finish with multi-hit performances. Gonzalez singled and scored in a five-run third when Sutherland pulled away from a one-all tie. The senior third baseman also singled and scored on Hunt’s blast in the fifth. Maddy Ward allowed four runs (one earned) on nine hits in complete-game effort on the mound. Addison Bernas, Julianna Lyons, Hunt, Gabrielle Lyons and Hannah Glanton had two hits apiece in the win. Gabrielle Lyons scored three runs. Bernas, Hunt and Julianna Lyons each crossed home twice. Mercy’s Maddie Oleksyn finished 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Kaitlyn Malucci went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Jaidan Ordorisi and Kirsten Crowley both went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
