The Pittsford Mendon Vikings hadn’t scored in the second quarter and Robert Nally called timeout with 3:14 remaining until halftime. In a win-or-go-home regional qualifier against East High, Nally did not see enough aggressiveness out of his offensive attack.
The Vikings soaked in Nally’s message, scoring on the first play out of the timeout. Kidder Lindley’s basket commenced an 11-5 run before halftime, capped by Lindley’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer to take a 24-23 lead. READ MORE.

Newark will play Allegany-Limestone (VI) in Saturday’s NYS Class B Far West Regional. A 7 p.m. tipoff is scheduled at Buffalo State College. Newark will be making its ninth regional appearance.

Starting with senior point guard Andrew Rowland, the ball switched sides of the floor twice before Colvin and Hudson Volpe connected on high-low action. Volpe didn’t hesitate to keep the ball moving to Browne along the right side of the paint. Colvin instinctively slid along the lane and Browne tucked a bounce pass into the senior big man for the first double-digit lead of the game. Haden Abbott had a huge game on the boards with 16 rebounds to go with his 11 points. Macoy Putnam had 12 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. The sophomore had another brilliant game passing, but kept several offensive possessions alive with his ability to tip rebounds his way. READ MORE.
