ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Whitley Easton and Teagan Kamm both scored in double figures as the Honeoye Falls-Lima girls’ basketball team defeated host Greece Olympia, 58-40 in Monroe County Division IV action, Thursday night.
Easton connected on four 3-pointers all in the first quarter to pace the Cougars to 21-10 lead after eight minutes.
Kamm took advantage of the space created in the lane and scored seven of her team-high 16 points in the first half.
“We like to play that two-man game with the outside to the inside,” HF-L head coach Steve Willoughby explained. “Once they start going out to defend Whitley we can dump it inside to Teagan.”
Kamm added six more points in the third quarter. The senior forward, who grabbed her 1,000th career rebound earlier this season, has 994 career points.

The win, HF-L’s fifth in the past six games, came two days after the Cougars dropped a 52-48 decision to Sutherland.
The game also starts an eight-day stretch for HF-L in which it will play back-to-back games on two separate occasions.
“We got to kind of average out our kids’ minutes a little bit,” said Willoughby whose team will travel to play Eastridge on Friday before playing Aquinas and Greece Odyssey next Tuesday and Wednesday. “Two games back-to-back and both on the road, this is not an easy place to play either.”
Easton helped HF-L ease into the challenging window of the schedule.
“Whitley is such a great shooter,” Willoughby said of the senior guard. “I’m constantly on her ‘if you’re open, shoot it. If you’re open, shoot it.’
“In a game like this, I rotate a lot of kids through. She cooled off after that, but it was enough for us. We got some threes from other kids.”
Kamm grabbed 18 rebounds for her 15th double-double of the season.

Olympia’s Shania Estrich led all scorers with 19 points. The sophomore guard connected eight times from the floor and converted 3-of-7 free throw attempts.
“Estrich is a pretty good player,” Willoughby noted. “She was taking us to the basket and got us in a little foul trouble.”
