ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Storms cut short the local high school basketball schedule last week. The weather, though, didn’t stop several players from turning in top performances. Bryce Ceravolo (Canandaigua), Jason Gibbs (Churchville-Chili), Josh Knapp (Fairport) and Emmanuel Torres (Eastridge) were named Player of the Week (January 31st-February 6th) for their respective divisions as announced by Monroe County coaches.
Knapp helped Fairport to its third straight win with a 16-point, six-rebound performance in the Red Raiders’ 61-50 win over Brighton to earn Monroe County Division I Player of the Week (POTW). The senior forward also took two charges in the contest. The game marked Knapp’s first double-digit effort of the season.
